Image Check System
Our Image Check System gives you reduced laser-printed images of your canceled checks in numerical order. For quick reference, the posted date, check number and amount appears on each item. Businesses receive both front and back images while personal accounts receive image fronts. These pages arrive pre-punched, ready for you to insert into your Imaging binder. While imaged copies are considered legal, if you need a hard copy of a check, simply call your local Bank office to request a duplicate. A copy of your check, front and back, can be faxed to you immediately or promptly mailed. Image copies of your checks, front and back, are maintained by the bank for seven years.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How is Image Checking done?
We have equipment that actually photographs checks, converts paper debits and credits (checks and deposit receipts) to a digital format and stores them on a Write Once-Read Many (WORM) optical disk. When it's time to send a statement, the data is retrieved from the optical disk, matched to the information posted to the account and converted to an image of the item for laser printing. - Is there a charge for the Image Check System?
Yes. For a paper statement with account history and check images, the fee is $2.00. There is no charge to have your statement and check images sent to you electronically. - What if I need a copy of a check?
Simply call your local Bank office to request a duplicate. A copy of your check, front and back, can be faxed to you immediately or promptly mailed. Image copies of your checks, front and back, are maintained by the Bank for seven years, so you can have a copy whenever you need one. Just call! - Will I receive a monthly statement?
Yes. The only difference is that you will receive the convenient imaged documents listing your checks in numerical order rather than a stack of canceled checks. - Does the Image Check System mean I have to switch to a new kind of check?
No. It is best, however, to use a pen with dark ink so that the image is very clear. Soft, felt tip markers or light colored inks may not produce a visible image. - Does Bank of Stockton offer the Image Check System to Personal Accounts?
Yes. If you are interested in this service for a personal account, contact New Accounts at your local office.
